Create 1.1.3 Appearance Quest

Explore learning modules from various online organizations and describe the benefits of layout, media, and appearance. Please identify ten instructional sites, and isolate five sites which exemplify sound design ideals and five that do not adhere to these standards and document in your blog.

Bond's Top 10 List of Online Learning:

10.  Wikiversity
Page reminds me of my students' attempts at research.  Bland and unimpressive.

9.  Berkeley Webcast
Unimpressive site that only kept my attention waiting for Dublledore to pop up and lecture.  Students would lose interest in this one real fast.  However, must remember that they are playing to their audience.

8.  Open Courseware Consortium
This site was not very useful and I could see students losing interest very quickly.

7.  Academic Earth
This site reminds me of the original CD games that came out where you would role play.  Some usefulness but not enough to keep you going with a long project.

6.  University of the People
Really expected more red to be used on this site and background music of Marshall music.  This site proves that things are worth what you pay for them.

5.  WatchKnowLearn
Surprisingly, found this site to be very useful and informative.  The layout is easy to use.

4.MIT Open Courseware
Though this site is not outstanding, it does provide the user with enough stimulation to keep you going.

3.  ITunesU
It's ITunes, what American youth would not be simply taken away with a site that could be used to fool their teachers?  Learn something new on the site that just happens to be within easy reach of your play list....what a win.

2.  Tufts Open Courseware
This site offers some stimulating visuals that would keep student interest.

1.  Khan Academy
Of course this is number one...how could you expect less of the founder of the program who is a billionaire?  Think he earned him money by providing poor quality work?  Layout is user friendly, media sources are informative and entertaining, and the site appeals to the senses.
